Lost Access to Niagara Pro

Niagara Launcher Doesn't Recognize my Purchase anymore

If your purchase wasn't recognized or you lost access to Niagara Pro after using it for a while, following these steps might help.

Why does this happen?

Losing access to Niagara Pro mostly happens because of an issue caused by Google's account system. This happens for users that have multiple Google Play accounts; every in-app purchase is linked to only one of your Google Play Store accounts. You need to be signed in with that account while downloading (updates for) Niagara Launcher. Sometimes, Google checks the purchases for the wrong account.

It's on Google's end to fix this. Niagara Launcher queries available purchases through a library connecting to Google Play Services, but in case you have multiple Google accounts, it sometimes simply returns nothing, likely because it looks at the wrong account. We already have some workarounds in place to prevent this from causing even more problems, but if it doesn't return your purchase for long enough (or never at all), we can't assume it exists. We're by far not the only one's experiencing this – this issue has existed for over 10 years now. Unfortunately, Google chose to entirely ignore it.

1. Remove secondary Google accounts

First, check on which account you bought Niagara Pro; here's how. Then, remove all other Google accounts from your device (Android settings > Accounts > Select the account > Remove Account). Warning: This will delete all messages, contacts, and other data linked to the phone account. Afterward, reboot your device and check if Niagara Pro is being recognized again.

2. Check your Google Play account

Make sure you're signed in on Google Play with the account that you used to purchase Niagara Pro; here's how. If you were not signed in previously or recently switched your account, please do the following:

  1. Sign in to Google Play Store with the account that you used to purchase Niagara Pro.
  2. Clear the cache of the Google Play Store app.
  3. Reboot your device.
  4. Open Google Play Store and check if the purchase is listed.
  5. Open Niagara Launcher and check if you have access to Niagara Pro.

3. Check if Google Play shows your purchase

If not, we haven't received your order, and you might want to contact Google: Fix payment issues on your account

4. Reboot your device

Have you tried turning it off and on again? You won't believe how often it helps.

5. Clear Niagara Launcher's app data

Warning: This will reset all of Niagara's settings as if you have just installed Niagara Launcher. If you don't want that, please contact us first. To clear Niagara Launcher's app data, go to Niagara Launcher's settings > Advanced > App info > Storage & cache > Clear Storage.

6. Contact us

If everything fails or you need further assistance, we're glad to help. Don't hesitate to contact us at support@niagaralauncher.com. To troubleshoot your purchase, please include its order number. Here's how you can find it: Looking up Your Order Number
